Man City Fans’ Thoughts Ahead of the Match

Originally a forum post by you can call me yo, click to read/comment

I popped over to the MCFC Forum to ask the questions this time. I got a better response than I did from the Sunderland fans. The questions I asked were:

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
2 – How much importance are you putting on the Capital One Cup?
3 – What is your view on Joe Hart? Should he be dropped after Sunday’s mistake?
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
6 – Which of our players do you consider to be our biggest threat?
7 – What is your prediction for Man City this season?
8 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
9 – Scoreline prediction?
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
I think you’ll see us revert to our usual 442 with the full backs bombing forward.
2 – How much importance are you putting on the Capital One Cup?
We’ll aim to get far in it with our squad players but not at the expense of the other competitions.
3 – What is your view on Joe Hart? Should he be dropped after Sunday’s mistake?
Joe will not be playing in the cup regardless but yes a couple of games out may do him some good.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
John Guidetti has been back in training and has an outside chance of featuring. I’d also expect to see marcos Lopes feature, probably off the bench.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
Dzeko can cause problems in the box but does very little outside of it. Navas is due a performance if he starts. Jovetic looked good last time out and will be eager to impress.
6 – Which of our players do you consider to be our biggest threat?
Ben Arfa can be dangerous on his game. Don’t if he will be playing though as I don’t know how serious you will take the game.
7 – What is your prediction for Man City this season?
Still think we will win the league and I’m gonna say quarter finals of the CL.
8 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
Mid table. Your too inconsistent for anything more.
9 – Scoreline prediction?
3-1 City
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
Banana’s Banana’s Banana’s!

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
A couple of lads from yesterday will make it in there. It’ll almost be a brand new XI.
2 – How much importance are you putting on the Capital One Cup?
A Cup is a Cup is a Cup. If you’re not in it to win it, why are you in it? That said, it comes dead last on the importance scale.
3 – What is your view on Joe Hart? Should he be dropped after Sunday’s mistake?
He’d have been dropped anyway – Pants always plays in domestic Cups.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
He’d have been dropped anyway – Pants always plays in domestic Cups.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
Hart
Dzeko is likely to play; he’ll have a point to prove (or 3).
6 – Which of our players do you consider to be our biggest threat?
Remy. He looks like he knows what he’s doing. Always had a soft spot for Ben Arfa though.
7 – What is your prediction for Man City this season?
Probably 2nd
8 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
Survive. But not by much
9 – Scoreline prediction?
1-3 to us. But could be anything if recent results are to go against.
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
A banana. Obviously.
Maybe a ‘peach’ though.

Kevez

1 – How do you think you’ll line up?
4-4-2. 3 or 4 survivors from Sundays defeat at Chelsea with a few off the bench starting with a couple of kids from the EDS team starting the match. 7 players on the bench will be a blend of first team regulars and kids.
2 – How much importance are you putting on the Capital One Cup?
I’d like to win this trophy as it is the one domestic trophy that we have not won since our re)emergence as a true force. That said it still plays 4th fiddle the the league, Champions League and FA Cup.
3 – What is your view on Joe Hart? Should he be dropped after Sunday’s mistake?
No. He shouldn’t be dropped. However he will not play a part in this match as Pantilimon is our number one keeper in domestic cup matches.
4 – Do you have any talent coming through your academy? Who are the ‘ones to watch’?
Marcos Lopes is the one who is most likely to feature in this match and the closest to featuring in the Premier League. Skillful, quick, creative and scores goals. Also look out for Pozo, he is one of the younger ones in the EDS squad and is a striker who came with a huge reputation from Real Madrid, These 2 could both have decent careers ahead of them.
5 – Who should we watch out for / who is your biggest threat?
You are likely to see a number if changes in our starting line up. I would select Edin Dzeko. He has a point to prove as he hasn’t had a lot of game time of late due the form of Aguero and Negredo our number 1 strike partnership.
6 – Which of our players do you consider to be our biggest threat?
You have three of them. Cabaye, Ben Arfa and Remy. Cabaye is great on the ball l, an excellent passer and has an eye for goal from long range. Ben Arfa is a bit of an enigma but has all of the talent in the world. Remy is a goal scorer, pure and simple.
7 – What is your prediction for Man City this season?
We’ll finish second in the league due to our inconsistencies away from home, make the quarter finals in the Champions League and win the FA Cup.
8 – How do you think Newcastle will do this season?
You’ll finish between 10th and 13th in the league. Not good enough to qualify for Europe through your league position but in no danger of relegation. You’ll be our victims in the FA Cup final.
9 – Scoreline prediction?
1-1 at full time, 2-2 after extra time, we win on penalties.
10 – If your football club was a fruit, what fruit would it be?
A pineapple. Exotic, exciting and bursting with foreign flavour
